On Saturday, the second of two Notts’ weekend workouts saw them take a 1-0 win at Hucknall Town thanks to a goal from trialist Kyel Reid.
Having seen his Hucknall Town side lose 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, I caught up with Anthony Coleman for a very brief chat on the day’s events at a packed out Watnall Road, following on from his pre-match thoughts.
How was your day? Must’ve been a proud one?
Very busy as I was manning the turnstiles and being such a small club we aren’t used to the onslaught of people at 3pm! Everyone had a fun day though and saw a good game. And the sun shone too, which is always a bonus. I’m sure the crowd of 922 enjoyed it!
Any standout performances from either side?
I’m not sure who the trialist was who scored for Notts but it was a superb strike. Some of Hucknalls new players such as Nathan Watson and Kieron Walker definitely made an impression.
Even in defeat you must’ve been happy with the result?
Yes, Hucknall created a lot of chances and could probably have won the game. All in all though the scoreline wasn’t the most important thing. We’re very appreciative that Notts sent a team down, and it gave the club a much-needed financial boost.
